My God

There isn't enough Reggae Jump-Up D&B produced these days, in my book. Helping to put this right, is the mighty Trojan Sound System, finally returning to the studio to follow their debut 2005 Trojan album, with the help of vocalist Jah Buck, and a young chap that goes by the name of Toddla T.

So far, this has been caned by disc jocks as diverse as Rob Da Bank & Ashley Beedle, amongst many others.
Trojan have been calmly smashing dancehalls and festivals throughout Europe for the past 7 years, premiering this track at a show in January. It triumphantly turned a 600 strong reggae crowd into a complete mosh pit.

Future releases on TSS Records are to include more from Toddla & material from the likes of Mr Jerry Dammers too.
The white label 12" of this track drops in all good vinyl emporiums this week.

Junior Gong, Nasir Jones and a video that probs only cost them ten squid to make (not).

Reggae Britannia

One for our international followers - this is a fantastic documentary aired on BBC4 last week, looking at the arrival of reggae in the UK. Following the early days of ska and blue beat, it delves deep into the impact Jamaican music has had on not only British music, but music around the world and features some amazing footage and interviews with some of the genres most notable characters. Enjoy!

big sha of zig zag zig

okay, this is my baby right here. big sha of zig zag zig with a promo on funkin' records. 3 tracks - 3 bombs! i featured «reload the clip remix» on our last deerhuntaz mix (missing joint #4).

i'm not sure if it is the same big sha as featured on the black fase ep, but apparently this was produced by mista sinista of the x-men. that's all i got.

Vampiros Discos

Our man in Athens Blend Mishkin has been dropping some seriously heavyweight reggaecentric beats and remixes lately, as I'm sure anyone who copped his massive 'Love Cup' tune last year will agree. March 28th will see the release of another low down dub hop cut featuring the vocal talents of BNC (Bruises'n'Cuts) called 'Disco Vampire' with remixes from Nice Up! family Mr Benn and Belgium's Turntable Dubbers. In anticipation of this release Blend has generously decided to give away his DJs version for free, so go get it here:

Valentines Special

Love is in the air today over at NICE UP! - we're a bunch of soppy old sods who can't resist spreading the amorous vibes this Valentine's Day, so thought we'd give away a real classic for you to serenade your other halves with. One of my favourite cuts on the timeless "Love I Can Feel" Riddim, Tony Rebel's "Fresh Vegetable" is true romance the old fashioned way - a true declaration of one mans love for a woman. Bless.

Yes King Long Time!

Watch out for Yes King this year, they've got some serious power moves going on. Over the past couple of months they've been kind enough to give away some of the heaviest tracks and remixes from their back catalogue too. This month you can download the remix they did a few years back for Mr Benn of his 'Long Time' single with Blackout JA and Blak Twang. Switching up the hip hop original to an 80s dancehall joint inspired by the punani riddim, this is a firm favourite round here. You should all go grab it now cos it's absolutely free too - in the words of Blackout JA - 'DIS A DI CHAMPION SOUND!'

Following on from their massive I Say Yeah/Rasta Be Good 12", this is a tough D&B work out with guests vocals thrown in the mix. The guys have decided to give the track away for free, so click below for your exclusive copy!
