Dub Pistols Rehashed

I was asked a while back to pick a tune from the Dub Pistols rather impressive back catalogue to remix - having scoured their 4 studio albums I plumped for their version of The Specials "Gangsters" as it's always been one of my favourite tunes. Getting Terry Hall's acapella was a bit of a moment in itself, but to have this released as part of the remix CD is a real honour. Big up to the man like Adam Prescott who jumped in the studio with me for this - unfortunately the remix has only been credited to myself - just wanted to put the record straight!

You can check our remix below, and head here to pick up the rest of the remixes, including a killer by NICE UP! fam Wrongtom and others by Paul Daley, Ben & Lex, Kouncil House and 2 Bit Thugs.

Big Man Business

A couple of new tracks are doing the rounds from Dynamite MC's forthcoming Big Man Talk Vol 3 - basically one of the finest mixtape series out there from one of the best MCs out there. With production from Danny Byrd, Redlight, Zed Bias & more, you know it's gonna be the heat when it drops, but for now here's Dyna doing his thing on top of 2 old school classics from Nitro Deluxe and LFO.

Lotek live

I was recently asked by man like Lotek to be his DJ on the remaining dates of his tour while he's over in the UK (he now resides in Australia). For those that don't know, Lo co-produced Roots Manuva's first 2 albums, as well as sharing mic duties for many years and co-ordinating the live shows around that time. He also produced Speech Debelle's Mercury winning album "Speech Therapy", so it goes without saying he's not only a badboy producer, but also a very very good MC. Anyway, we've been practicing this week and all I can say is DAMN! it is sounding TIGHT!

We're debuting the new line up of the Haggis Horns, myself and Flo on backing vocals this sunday at the Vibe Bar on Brick Lane. It's FREE Entry, so get yourself down for a slice of the nice.

If hip hop & reggae is your thing (which, if you're reading this, probably is) be sure to pick up a copy of the album here and come say hello if you're in the area.

Reggae Music video

Big up to our Reggae Roast fam for this wicked new video to "Reggae Music" by Earl 16. They've been doing their thing for some time and this video, along with their big dances in London and festival appearances all over the summer should help to gain new fans and spread their message. There's a few familiar faces in the video, but we're a bit disappointed not to see Exel or Moody showing their mugs - maybe the world ain't ready for that yet boys? Make sure you grab the single from your local record shop or cop the MP3s here (check out the wicked Mungo's refix)

When I Look At You Now

Here's a lil' Dubstep Hip Hop mash up for y'all.
This was dropped on the Main Squeeze blog yesterday.

Emalkay's monster from a year or so ago, "When I Look At You", atop the recent Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne banger,
"Look At Me Now".

Yes, Chris Brown is a smug wife beating bell-end (in my opinion).
Yes, Lil Wayne does just talk about how much money he's got
(in my opinion).
But Busta?... BEAST (in everyone's opinion).
Always has been. Always will be.
Best Busta verse for a while on this one too.

Anyways, 320 mp3 download is HERE, should you want this for your iPod or your Serato set. Watch the ride & enjoy!...
Bobba Ranks.
