Didn't expect to see this anytime soon. In the world of mash-up block party bashment reggae rave isht, Jon Carter was always a bit of a legend in my books, back in the mid '90s. Regularly turning it out at the Heavenly Social at Turnmills, where I caught him spin a few times, and then under his Monkey Mafia moniker, producing tough ragga breaks of his own right, just before the Big Beat scene crashed unceremoniously on it's arse, like a drunk cousin at a wedding.
So, after a long long while, Mr Carter is BACK, diverting from playing House music in superclubs, and going back to his roots of making dutty sound system skankin' fuelled riddims.
